How I did it

I've added a stroke around my text but I didn't know how to do it so I went on YouTube and I found out how to do it.

My magazine ideas

Front cover

I have now added even more artist to my magazine at the top, this is because I have noticed that a lot of magazines do it and I think that it makes it look professional and shows I have a variety of artist in my magazine.

As you can see I have enlarged the masthead so it stands out. I have made a logo for 'win an iphone' logo so it would look more professional and changed the design of the cover stories to reflect the colours of the rest off the magazine. Also I have added a bar-code and a 'Plus' section to add more artist. And finally I have added 'THE ALBUM IS FINALLY HERE' under 'EDDY LART' so I didn't have to put 'EDDY LART' twice.

I have took inspirations from other indie magazine, I have now enlarged the title and put strokes around the cover stories and the main story 'EDDY LART'. I think this makes it look more like a magazine. I have also changed some of the cover stories to fit my genre. For example instead of having Justin Bieber, Nicki Minaj and One direction, I have changed them to Florence and the machine, Shawn Mendes and Fun. I think this makes it feel like a indie magazine more.

I have totally redesigned my front cover, this is because I thought that it didn't look professional enough with the bright colours or the way my model is holding the guitar, so I changed the colour palet and layout. I think I made it look more professional.

I have added 'Everything you need to know about Justin Beiber One Direction' to show that there is more artists in this magazine.

Contents page

I have changed my contents page, this is because I didn't feel my last attempts meant up to the standard of what I was expecting. Therefor I have looked at indie contents pages and I came up with this design. I have thinned my lines and added more artist to the list so my magazine looks more full. I have also increased the size of the main story, this will let the reader know that Eddy Lart is the main story without reading anything. I have also added page numbers to go with the pictures.  

I have redesigned my contents page to fit in with my front cover and double page spread. 

Double page spread

As you can see I have changed the layout on my double page spread. I have added a quote with the main letters in white and bold, also I have made my text on publisher and I have added a drop cap as a lot of of magazines do.

This will be my double page spread, as you can see it is vastly different from my original mock up. I have changed the colour to match my redesigned front cover and added the new logo. Also after my research of double page spread I discovered that the best double page spreads was the ones that kept the picture that the writing separate.

Mock-up's

I wanted to test the different pictures on a dark surface and a light surface. I feel like the my magazine works better on a dark surface, I think that it makes the text stand out and I feel like it stops being so plain.
